We are excited to announce that we have filed our union petition with the Public Employee Relations Board (PERB)! This brings us one step closer to forming our AFSCME Maryland Supervisors Union.
As members of the AFSCME Maryland Supervisors Union, we have been through so much — from fighting to pass legislation granting us collective bargaining rights to organizing and visiting hundreds of worksites over the last six months to finally moving to this next stage.
With our union AFSCME, our union cards have now been validated through the PERB which allows us to move to a union election. In the coming weeks, we will be holding informational meetings about the election as we get more details confirmed.
In the meantime, here’s what you can do:
- Join our union. The work doesn’t stop now. We need to win and be powerful at the bargaining table. That starts with building a strong membership.
- Get involved. Each worksite needs to have a point of contact. If you would like to be that person and can help us communicate updates, please complete this form.
- Update your contact information in Workday! This includes your mailing address and your name on file. You may not receive a ballot if your address is outdated, and your ballot may not be accepted if you sign a name that is different than what is on record with the State.
This is a huge step on the path to victory. We are so excited to be building our union together.
